Hello you gorgeous peopleš I hope you like hanging out on my blog space that far and I am not disappointing you. I honestly appreciate that I can do this, to write about my taste in music and share it with others here .I love you all who finds time to read my posts .So let's get to the point, shall we?
A lot of things happening right now in the world and in my life so I kind of trying to find something like escape beat and express rage in the music at the same time. I just think this is the best way to show my emotions, sounds complicated but true, and I am sure I am not the only one, right? I've been thinking about two songs (actually more, but those got into the TOP) to get you know to and this was really hard to decide, so I hope you
won't judge my choice.
Saint Motel, the band that dropped in my 'wish' list accidentally ,is not the newbie in the music industry and also not the oldie. They are 'teenage' group(by teenage I mean the are formed in 2007) from Los Angeles playing music in my faves genres as Indie/indie-pop,-rock and alternative. They actually remind me a little bit of the Walk the Moon or The Kooks with that drive and the meaning of moving forward. The song that caught my attention is a phenomenon as I think.
Destroyer, this is the name of the single, came out in 2016 as did their new album saintmotelvision , but week and a half they dropped a music video for this song and it looks stunning. But before talking about video let me tell you about music itself, because it is such a mix little bit of everything. Like what you expect mostly of the break up song except the power of emotions? May seem like a clichĆ© but I always imagine those songs at least in minor key and with a depressing mood following the feel of power ,strange but it feels like that to me. But in the Destroyer Saint Motel telling us a little bit another story. Obviously, the narrative is a guy who had been dumped by this girl, who is quoted in a chorus. They tried to show that woman are quite a cruel creature when you messing up with them, like girl says "I donāt break hearts, I destroy them". And all that meaning behind the lyrics are even more spiced up with the cheerful beat. No moody or any negative note. Through the whole song you can hear the saxophone, with which song also starts. The melody it plays sounds like he is making fun of someone and laughing. They play non-stop, every time in a drive and sax solo in the bridgeā¦.omg, you really going to love it.
What I like about this music video is that it made in the best indie style traditions. It looks like compound of 80's disco style and nowadays. The beginning speaks for itself, they mixed the softness by showing pink cassette player and continuing it with the big bang. I like that little things in a video matches the beat, for example, the glass of vine breaks as it hits the floor at the same time the line "I donāt break hearts" ends or the claps. It gives a lot of dynamic to the song and looks more juicy and interesting.
This is a great hit to wind up, not to think about anything serious and just have fun. If you have an opportunity, please, turn it on as loud as you can and jump on your bed, or at least have a blast, because I definitely cannot afford it right now. So donāt pay attention to what other people say ,cause they better not mess up with you or you'll destroy them.
Go, listen, ENJOY!
