Bo Baskoro, how quite a lot of musicians was doing covers of popular songs AND in 2016 released his song Woman. Artist writes his music in rock/ alternative style, cannot say it is pure one genre, because you can hear different stuff put together and this is actually pretty cool. Always great to listen to something new and unique. This is why my eye actually caught his song named High(Keep up), which name might mislead you at first, I guess.
High(Keep up) is pretty full with semantic saturation, not heavy though. When you listen and read lyrics everything looks very clear, there are no in-between thoughts, but it definitely make you think about it harder. Also I find the topic quite popular no matter what age you are, since songs tells a story about getting older, about self seeking, about self discover, about people that surround us and how we want to keep up or mostly be even better. Sometimes when your dreams shatter and you cannot find a reason to get up and find a new one, but also you are the only one who can or might want to change that. This is what High(Keep up) is mostly about, quite depressive, I know, but is showing that you build your future and you don't need to be like everyone.
Talking about music what I like the most is the feeling of acoustic and rock and alternative mixed together. Listening to it you don't feel tense like it may happen when listening to rock. Perfect balance of guitar and stringed in the beginning and then the transition to chorus... love it! Bit by bit added bass and piano and percussions make it more saturated, filled with passion and emotion. Most times it happens to express anger and similar kind of emotion, but here it is more like plead and maybe confusion. Just perfect fit for the lyrics.
Furthermore, Bo Baskoro has a new single called Mercy, which is something totally different from High(Keep up), but sooo good. If you are looking for fresh music and something out of ordinary then check out Bo Baskoro ASAP! Go, listen and ENJOY!
