You never know what you'll find into the Woods, maybe a beautiful Fairy or a Witch

The week passes so fast, feels like I even didn't have a time to blink an eye. I guess, I am still in that spiritual, magic mood since Halloween passed. As I mentioned previously, now Fridays will become music discovery time and it just a coincidence that this particular genre is partly connected with magic, witches and all.

I was charmed by that band called Shireen. Their song UMAI was released previous year with that dark, mysterious video, where whole scene is placed in deep forest. The band is working in a various genres like folk, pop, alternative rock, everything that is close to us and what we already know, right? But what you don't know, that Shireen mostly work in new music genre called WITCHPOP. Are you interested already, because when I found that out I thought it is something interesting and crazy at the same time.

As I already said WITCHPOP or WitchHouse is relatively new in music industry. It appeared absolutely by accident, and I am not kidding, sometimes it happens with music. WitchHouse is based on witchcraft, dark occult music combined with electro, inspired by chopped and screwed hip hop. As you read it you understand that it sound like a total mess, but when you'll hear it in action ,you will definitely get the whole point. The reason why it called WITCH house/pop is that you can certainly understand what the pop or house sound, but adding WITCH to those it makes them darker, mystical, magical, charming. Even before hearing the song you already know that it gonna be with that deep meaning of the Dark world, if you want to say that.

The band, Shireen, come originally from Netherlands , which is an amazing country *even though I wasn't there*, and it is not surprising that these guys found themselves in this genre. Of course, by seeing them you can totally say that, yup, they rock witch house, but what I also liked about UMAI is that it has something old. Like intro, for example, has that Metallica's Nothing Else Matters harmonies, which makes me curious about what will happen next. The solist, who's name is Annicke Shireen, has that sense of folk in her voice and this timbre that drives crazy, like she wants to bring you into a trance. When you listen to it the whole picture of vocals, violin, guitars and illusion of jaw's harp, Oh My God, I can't resist of it.

I guess, I start babbling, but this is only because I am really obsessed with Shireen's UMAI, and I tell you more, they release their full new album today, November 3, so I leave it you. But I really do think you would enjoy this single. If not because of music then because of video clip and vice versa. So yeah, listen to it and ENJOY!
