Hey, hey, hey! I was a bit busy this week so there was no post as usual and I should say there is no excuse for me. I am really sorry guys, but this month gonna turn into hell for me and everyone who is studying in college or university, but I still will try keep up with everything and post at least once a week. Most likely on Fridays or weekends, but will see 😊
I hope everyone who is reading my blog had a great week. Really quick question first before I will share my thoughts, who had seen new DC movie Justice League? Who had, write in a comments below how you liked it or not. I should be honest here, right? So I may say that my lazy butt wasn't in the cinema to see it in a full glory, but I saw it *don't ask how* .
So I think everybody heard some songs from the official original soundtrack. Some of them are new, like specially written themes, but some of them are covered old versions. And let me add great covered versions, that sound amazing and some of them, no offence, even better than originals. As an example I will talk about the first song Everybody Knows by Sigrid. I don't know why it touched my soul so much, maybe because of the scene that is shown during this song *no spoilers for those who haven't seen movie*. It fits there perfectly. The effect of wave, something like tsunami. Everything starts soft, with only vocals and piano, when the motion rises, gives more worries. How sometime percussions can change the whole mood and perception. With every verse there is added some new zest. Also the singers voice is unusual. I guess, I just have some kink for this timbre, but it really sounds awesome, hard to explain how it sounds. It is like Sigrid's voice is rough, but at the same time it doesn't sound that way. It opens with every line more and more, so even same words don't sound similar and you know it because with every time it brings different meaning.
However, the original version of Everybody Knows is performed by Leonard Cohen. Amazing poet, singer and person itself. If you listen to his version then you will catch completely different mood. Words stay the same, but instruments, the melody, the performance change everything. It has that 80's and 90's drive. Although, words are a bit pessimistic the music itself is very light, you can easily dance. The guitar that is heard all the time reminds me of Hotel California by Eagles, that is what the new version by Sigrid doesn't have.
I like both versions though, but still deep and charming cover by Sigrid stays my favorite. But if you really want to feel the difference, you should listen to both interpretations. No videos, just audio. Clear mind and a sound of music. Hope you will like it and, maybe, it will inspire you to go and see movie too. Have a great weekend and listen to Everybody knows by Sigrid. Enjoy😉
