Happy New Year to you all guys! Hope you had a great festive night, day(s) or all together, who knows...Definitely with a lot of a good music playing in the background or as loud so no one could sleep. Tell you the truth, I am a bit unfocused right now, but I'll try to not to get lost in my own thoughts and connect everything for you.
I decided to write about two different bands in one post. Not because of saving time or whatever reasonable excuse you can think of. The real reason is that one song was in the list for quite a long time and other appeared this week. Don't beat me up, please. I'll try to explain.
There are two well known bands, if you didn't know about them now you will, Cold War Kids and Wild Child. Both bands are so alike and different at the same time, that is why I decided to "team them up".Maybe, the fact that they have word kid or child (which has the same meaning)in the band name seems ironically funny just for me, but this is what it is. Plus if you look at names all together you will see that this child isn't miserable, but strong and independent. The other common thing is the genre. Cold War Kids and Wild Child perform in indie and alternative, but have also other divisions like indie-rock and indie-pop, soul, blues rock, which means we cannot compare them to one another. Both bands may have similar vibe in their songs, but they are so much different.
Cold War Kids and Wild Child both have new albums, L.A. Divine that was released in 2017 and Expectations that will come out in February. Will see what Wild Child will bring us, although, we already have two songs what we can listen to.
Songs that caught my "eye" is also called Expectations by Wild Child and So tied up by Cold War Kids. They both show, tell the story about two people relationship, however it is not that colorful as story books tell us. Real love means unconditional, non-stop work, it has a lot of ups and downs. So, while Expectations narrates about lack of understanding, lack of communication between lovers, because one of them is mostly selfish and self centered, the So tied up is more crazy. You know the quote that from love to hate is one step? This song completely represents this, maybe their relationship is messed up, because they can't trust each other anymore, but since they know too much about each other, no one will escape. So difficult to understand, because it is a small bit of what lyrics may mean. While listening to Expectations and So tied up I came up to conclusion that passive aggressive behavior describes it the best *at least for me, no offense*. Surely one of them is more passive than another and vice versa, but it is mostly because of beat itself.
While Cold War Kids with Bishop Briggs give you an opportunity to see the whole spectrum of relationship and murder ideas in their music video to So tied up, you need to wait a little bit *at least hope so*for visualization of Expectations by Wild Child. Go and support those bands, because they are extraordinary amazing. Listen and ENJOY!
