How great it is to be back here even if I've missed only one day. Promise, I am not skipping on purpose, but this also gives me some more time to realize that I've made the right choice. I guess, I will add one more day when I'll post, because the amount of music I want to share thoughts about are increasing everyday, especially in the beginning of the new year.
I had 3 different options what artist should I write and since the advice "Choose who's better" is not the option, because they all are great and extremely different. Different styles, different mood, different meaning and it definitely will drive me crazy one day, but I love it. So I scanned my previous posts and find out that it's been quite a while since I talked about ballads. Mostly the chat was about some joyful songs about life and love in indie styles or something dark, the food for thoughts, but real ballad, the tender love song hadn't appeared for several months. And that is THE SHAME.
So, let me rehabilitate and introduce you to Calum Scott's new song You Are the Reason, which is a third single in his upcoming album "Only Human". Calum is well known for his song Dancing on My Own what has been released in 2016 and topped in several charts. And now he is going on a tour with his album this year, which gonna definitely will be a blast.
In my opinion, we absolutely can consider Scott's single You Are the Reason as a love ballad. So warm and passionate lyrics with calming and ,at the same time, piercing music are like a time bomb for people heart. Feels like you are listening to somebodies life story, with its ups and downs and with every word it becomes more beautiful and heartbreaking. And then it reaches that climax point when you think now everything will be all right, so you holding your breath and trying not to cry. Reminds of roller coaster, Calum Scott definitely messing up with listener's heart, but in a good way.
What can sound more beautiful and make illusion of the fragile feeling than piano theme followed with string orchestra and some more choir vocals in the climax moment? Especially when singer has that clear voice, this is precious piece. With every vocal and musical transition that sounds very natural, not like just a pasted "stuff" which will sound unusual in there. Also the music video is made very neat and fits perfect, nothing unnecessary, just streets of a glorious city filled with different type of couples with their own stories and our one and only teller.
Calum Scott make a great pieces of music art and I cannot wait till the whole album will be out, but I am already in love it. You Are the Reason is the song that I longed for a while in my life, something beauteous, heartbreaking, seem-simple like. Oh, and the best part of this song is multipurpose. You can slowdance to it (e.g. at the weeding), you can cry/think/analyze *sorry for a pinch of pessimism* and I think some movie should buy it from Calum as their soundtrack, because it will be incredible.
Hope Calum Scott's You Are the Reason will turn your world around, because it did to me. So waist no more time and go listen to it ASAP . I promise, you will enjoy this big spoon of tenderness.
