Everyone, I swear, I truthfully, hopelessly am confused. Haven't happened to me for a long time, but at the same time as I have found this amazing song I cannot spell out the meaning behind the lyrics. I have at least three different explanations, but all in all non of them seems correct enough.
Ansel Elgort is an actor, singer and DJ. I would say he has an unique name that draws attention, but recognized him not because of it. I assume a lot of you have seen his as an Augustus Walters from movie "The Fault in our Stars" based on John Green's novel or from "Divergent" , or maybe his new movie "Baby Driver". He is a great actor, but we are here to talk about his music.
Ansel planning to release his first EP called Supernova this year, as I assume it is not officially out yet. He already has two music videos for singles Thief and Supernova, which is amazing to see him sing and speak his heart out. And I think this is why I cannot connect some dots. I would like to talk about his single Supernova, which was released this year as was a music video too.
Great beat, this is one of those songs that I imagine listening to in the car while driving somewhere far away, when it is as loud that everyone can get annoyed. It is something between hip-hop and pop. Absolutely club or party material, but you can definitely dive in yourself listening to it too. What is surprising is that not many artists use flute sound as a main thing to focus on while the last pre-chorus, it is extraordinary to see, to hear, like some kind of trance. What I also like is the way Ansel make chorus sound differently. He sings it twice in a row, but in two opposite ways, first is calm, soft and innocent in some kind. The second he sings it chorus sounds more aggressive, desperate and the trick he used to make it feel that different is only adding hard beats on the background. Easy and smart. But there is one minus. You know I mostly don't talk about flaws here, but this one bothers me so much-the ending. I know that artist, singer sees things how he sees them, but for me the ending of Supernova was kind off cut short. Sorry, but I am very picky sometimes.
As I mentioned in the beginning, I am pretty much confused about lyrics, so I leave it up to you guys to figure out what they mean. Maybe it depends what are you going through in your life when you listen to this song or I am just dumb, who knows. Maybe one day I could ask Ansel about it, but you can share your thoughts with me here or in any other social media platform.
I would say that Supernova is really amazing song from Ansel Elgort, and checking it out is worth your time as well as to listen to his other works. Wish him luck with his new EP Supernova and go listen to Supernova, cause you can find it on any music platform right now. ENJOY!
