Love the feeling of listening to new pieces of art by your favorite band. It is always intriguing to wait and see what they came up with in their new album. Fall Out Boy have been teasing us with their new albums M A N I A for quite a long time and I remember how some people had been confused when Young and Menace aired. It was something new, so not what fans were used to, and put them on the new level.

Officially band released their new, seventh, studio album M A N I A just this week *freshly baked* ,but they had been introducing us to the content whole year, bit by bit, and this is what I am very grateful for. As I said, new album has different sounding than previous FOB works, but guys explained that they wanted to try something new, which is good and refreshing.

The day when the whole album was released was also the day when Fall Out Boy presented us new music video to one of their single Church. Even though band is using new "gadgets and gizmos" as auto tunes and sound effect, this song is totally screaming Fall Out Boy. It sounding is complete classy Fall Out Boy, something punk, rock'n'roll, what every fan is used to, what you can definitely recognize in a room full of noise. And it is not only music, but also the depth of the words, what is not just random rhyming stuff.

Church, the sounding of it literally remind of a rollercoaster ride. I am sure you will notice it when you listen to it. How the calm beginning like a lullaby that tries to tell you story changes to that passion and need. Sometimes I am scared of Patrick's, lead vocals, vocal chords, how he processes those used to be soul screams into powerful singing. The auto tune that they use to make background sound seem like church choir is very smart and at the same time something that is perfectly fit and natural in this song. They put also other church "attributes" in there like bells, electro sound of organ and that "little thingy" during second verse. At the second half of the verse instrumental music goes silent and band makes that snap-slap sound while singing, it gives some time to realize the lyrics what is important.

The meaning behind those religious lyrics is kind of very basic, beautiful and perfectly hidden. Fall Out Boy are telling a story of the life, it's ups and downs, from beginning to an end. Big part though is dedicated to love. Band use metaphor of church as a person, someone you love so much you want to worship, worship your relationship, someone who you can go to and tell everything and this person not gonna judge you. As i mentioned before, the second verse is kind of special, not only because of the music concept, but because of the words too. It is not only about life and death, trust and betrayal, about how we feel in this world full of fake faces, it is also about that the end is waiting for us all and we don't need to deny it. But it certainly is straightly connected to Patrick himself, since we can hear person shout "Mr. Stump!". I would say this verse is complicated and exact at the same time, breathtaking.

It is not surprise that FOB used literally church as a place where scene is taking place. But what happening behind closed door is much different. It is not place full of saints, on a contrary, I would say this place is full of sinners of different sins. At the same time it looks like Romeo and Juliet story in a parallel reality of gangsta world. What defines this song, this music video that this is a part of new album M A N I A is a purple color. This color became album's distinctive sign, so you will always can recognize where this single is coming from. No lamas this time though.

Fall Out Boy made a great job as always and left a lot of new emotions. Church became my total jam for this weekend. Such an awesome sum up of different, amazing and meaningful topics in one song. So if don't have anything what listen to, go and check out single Church and other songs from FOB new album, argh...even if you do have what listen to right now, you still need to introduce yourself to it. ENJOY!
