If you might noticed I always find or try to find songs that I really can relate to, so listening to them give me some extra emotion and understanding. I think everyone really does that, even if the track might be dumb to everyone else it sounds very special to yourself. That is how one or several particular music genres become FAVORITE.
I am quite picky with music, as I said, and by answering what my fave style is I name at least 3, but that doesn't change that I still appreciate other singers, music genres and covers. Although, sometimes it can be an issue for me while hanging out with friends or family, especially when you live at this time and in a nation mixed place. Also, being misunderstood is one of my biggest fears, so I always try to explain the real meaning of song or music video to people near me, but we all know that won't always work. I guess this is why I created this blog, so I can share my thoughts and my favorite stuff here safely, taking critics and find like-minded people.
Speaking of safe place, the bubble we create so one can touch us? There is one great song, hanging on the air for some time, called The Boy In The Bubble by Alec Benjamin. Great story, that has two sides, because, let's face it, every story always has two sides. Very dynamic, maybe even something that lots of you can relate to. We all might witnessed bullying in our lives or even have been a victim of such OR the bully itself. Song The Boy In The Bubble tells the story about a guy, who never tried to stand out, he always been quite, hasn't let friends, family in and never bothered anyone. And there is other kid, who's life isn't perfect at all. Sounds familiar, right? So the only thing can do is express his anger and dissatisfaction with life is bullying other kids. Well, Alec shows that violence and abuse cannot change your life, won't make you feel any better and make it quite the opposite. Also what I want to add, that this kid, who's living in that bubble and tries to avoid any conflict isn't that scared of the bully and ,maybe, even seeks for that fight, so feeling pain might prove him he is alive...
Song is quite intense and you need to listen closely to get the point of lyrics. While there are lots of beats and bass in it, so whole thing sounds stable, recitative in the beginning gives that nerve. It definitely make you feel like you need to follow whole flow of words closely. It is like a rollercoaster, you climb and climb with that whole pre-story on the top and when the truth comes out you are rushing down and up, very exiting actually.
This not the story I am personally familiar with, but I quite can relate to some moments of it. I guess if you want some food for your brain then The Boy In The Bubble by Alec Benjamin is a great choice. It can be quite depressive though, so if you are sensitive for that topic better save it for later.
P.S. Remember, violence is not a solution and silence can't prevent it .
